From now on, the residents of the city will be able to receive direct information about the project and personalized services regarding the process of connecting to the natural gas distribution network. The arrival of natural gas in Katerini ensures affordable energy for both residential and commercial users, while contributes to the protection of the environment. The project is underway and the Municipality is in constant contact with Enaon EDA to ensure that it is implemented in a coordinated way, with consistency in planning and with the highest standards of quality and safety. Our priority is to rehabilitate the road network as soon as the construction work is completed. For this reason, it is important that citizens express their interest at this stage and conclude contracts for connection to the gas distribution network, as this will minimize disruptions in the areas where the network is being developed. We ask for the understanding of the citizens. The inconvenience will be temporary, but the benefits of the arrival of gas will be permanent».
Enaon EDA implements the project for the development of the natural gas distribution network in line with its updated schedule, intensifying construction efforts, always taking into account both the construction activities that are appropriate for development in the city and the construction pace that the company can realistically maintain within a given time frame, alongside the development of networks in other geographical areas as part of its investment program.
The project in Katerini is currently in full progress, with strong demand for new connections to the natural gas distribution network. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, over 250 connection contracts were signed and are now in the process of being activated.
There is also significant interest from the industrial sector as well as public and municipal buildings. To date, three industrial facilities have already been connected to the network, while six municipal buildings including the Katerini Swimming Pool are prioritized for immediate connection.
To ensure the efficient planning of all activities, which are carried out in strict compliance with the applicable laws and stringent regulations governing the operation of the Distribution Network Operator, Enaon EDA maintains continuous coordination and collaboration with the Municipality of Katerini and all involved stakeholders. The goal is to complete the project with minimal disruption.
