The inauguration event of Enaon\u2019s Pavilion was held by the CEO, Barbara Morgante, in the presence of the Minister of Environment and Energy and distinguished guests, underlining the company\u2019s commitment to the energy transition and sustainable development.<\/em><\/p>\n

The inauguration event of Enaon<\/strong>\u2019s Pavilion at the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF)<\/strong> was held by the CEO, Ms. Barbara Morgante<\/strong>, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, in the presence of the Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Stavros Papastavrou<\/strong>, the Ambassador of Italy to Greece, Mr. Paolo Cuculi<\/strong>, and the Vice President of RAAEY for the Energy Sector, Mr. Dimitris Fourlaris<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Enaon\u0384s Pavilion was also visited by the Deputy Minister of Energy, Mr. Nikos Tsafos<\/strong>, the Secretary General of Energy and Mineral Raw Materials, Ms. Despina Paliarouta<\/strong>, the Press Representative of Nea Dimokratia, Ms. Alexandra Sdoukou<\/strong>, the Regional Governor of Central Greece, Mr. Fanis Spanos<\/strong>, the Regional Governor of Western Greece, Mr. Nektarios Farmakis<\/strong>, the Deputy Regional Governor of Development and Environment of Central Macedonia, Mr. Kostas Gioutikas<\/strong>, the President of the Regional Union of Municipalities of Central Macedonia, Mayor of Pylaia, Mr. Ignatios Kaitezidis<\/strong>, the Member of Parliament Thessaloniki A and Deputy Secretary-General of the Nea Dimokratia Parliamentary Group Mr Diamantis Golidakis<\/strong> as well as representatives of the political life of the country and institutional bodies. The guests were welcomed at Pavilion 10 \/ Stand 20 of the Greek company of the Italgas Group by the CEO of Enaon, Ms. Barbara Morgante<\/strong>, and the CEO of its subsidiary Enaon EDA, Ms. Francesca Zanninotti.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/em>Natural gas may be a transitional fuel, that supports the stability of the energy system, but our network is not transitional. The infrastructures we manage across Greece are green, smart, and digital and can be leveraged for our transition to cleaner energy. They represent a very important asset that belongs to the \u00a0country and are ready for the distribution of renewable gases, such as biomethane<\/em>\u201d<\/em> emphasized the CEO of Enaon, Ms Barbara Morgante<\/strong>,\u00a0during her speech at the Pavilion\u2019s inauguration event, underlining the fact that the Ministry of Environment and Energy and RAAEY have made significant progress in a short period of time in regulating the developing the biomethane market in Greece.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are continuing to invest in Greece, expanding our network into new areas and bringing natural gas even to remote regions through small-scale LNG infrastructures. At the same time, the digitalisation of the existing network is under way by using innovative technologies<\/em>,\u201d added the CEO of Enaon, expressing the company\u2019s targeting to support the procedures for the creation of the first biomethane production plant in Greece, by leveraging the expertise of the parent Italgas Group, which has extensive experience in the biomethane sector, already developed in Italy.<\/p>\n

Ms. Morgante underlined that the company, through its subsidiary Enaon EDA, currently manages approximately 8,700 km of network in 115 municipalities of the country, with more than 630,000 consumers, noting that the aim is to further strengthen relations with local communities and representatives of local government of the first and second degree for the benefit of citizens. In particular, she expressed warm thanks to the company\u2019s employees who contribute with all their strength to the achievement of the company\u2019s goals.<\/p>\n

At the same time, within the framework of the 89th TIF, the CEO of Enaon, Ms. Barbara Morgante, during her participation in the Fifth Metropolitan Summit in Thessaloniki, co-organized by the Economist and powergame.gr, where she spoke in the thematic session \u201cSoutheastern Europe as a bridge of cooperation and development, she emphasized that \u201c<\/strong>molecules and electrons should not be fighting as a derby but complement each other\u201d.<\/p>\n

She also presented the company\u2019s strategy for integrating renewable gases into the networks managed by Enaon all over Greece, through its subsidiary Enaon EDA, with a central pillar being the readiness of infrastructure to immediately accommodate biomethane and, in the future, hydrogen. <\/strong>It is worth noting that natural gas remains the best energy solution for the buildings built before 1990, which are more than 50% of the total real estate assets in Greece.<\/strong> Indicative of the demand is the fact that consumer connections to the natural gas network are expected to reach \u00a050,000 in 2025, compared to\u00a0about 31,000 last year.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Minister of Environment and Energy, <\/strong>Mr. Stavros Papastavrou<\/strong>, during his address at the inauguration event of Enaon\u0384s Pavilion, emphasized:\u201cYou said very correctly that natural gas is a transitional fuel, but the networks remain. The networks, in reality, are like the arteries of the body. The stronger, cleaner, and more robust the arteries, the stronger the organism. I would therefore like to congratulate you on the investments you are making in creating modern networks, which remain as a valuable asset for our country. We are proud to have Italgas in Greece. Italy and Greece cooperate closely in the energy sector and we are very pleased to share a common perception of things, as this greatly facilitates our cooperation. Italy is advanced in many areas. Greece is also advanced in renewable energy sources, but you bring your know-how, and this is particularly appreciated.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Italian Ambassador to Greece<\/strong>, Mr. Paolo Cuculi<\/strong>, underlined: \u201cStronger Together \u2013 this is the essence of the cooperation between Italy and Greece for centuries, but more than ever in these difficult times. The basis of each cooperation is trust, reliability, and consistency in commitment. And all these elements I have personally witnessed over the last two years of my mandate in Greece. Reliability is crucial in sectors such as energy for the sustainable development of every country, and I believe that Enaon and Italgas are an excellent example of this. Italgas came to Greece at a time when it was not fashionable in a sense, and it was not a shot only. It is a commitment that continues tangibly with increasingly ambitious investment plans for Greece.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Enaon\u2019s presence at the 89th TIF 2025 confirms the company\u2019s commitment to lead the transition toward a sustainable future in Greece, investing in pioneering technologies and innovative energy solutions for all. Visitors can be thoroughly informed about the mission of Enaon and its subsidiary Enaon EDA in the field of natural gas distribution and renewable gases at Pavilion 10 \/ Stand 20 throughout the duration of the TIF (September 6 to 14, 2025).<\/p>\n
