Construction works for the natural gas network in Arta have begun

Hellenic Gas Distribution Company Enaon EDA, a subsidiary of Enaon of the Italgas group, announces the start of construction works for the natural gas distribution network in Arta, marking the implementation of an important energy-upgrade project for the city.

Construction works began today, 9 December, starting from Gogou Bakola Street near the Arta Town Hall and will continue in the northwestern part of the city. According to Enaon EDA’s planning, the construction of the network in Arta is expected to be completed within 2026, enabling households and businesses in the city to use natural gas.

The construction project has a total budget of approximately €2 million and is co-funded 66.08% by the Public Investment Programme (PIP) and 33.92% by the company’s own funds.

It provides for the construction of 10 km of low-pressure network in the city of Arta, which will be supplied through small-scale LNG infrastructure, using cutting-edge technology and the expertise of the parent company Italgas. The goal is for more than 900 consumers of all categories (residential, commercial, industrial) to be connected to the natural gas distribution network in Arta by 2030.

The advantages of using natural gas are numerous. Natural gas ensures affordable energy for households and businesses, as it is more economical and more efficient compared with other conventional fuels. At the same time, natural gas is more environmentally friendly, as its combustion produces significantly less carbon dioxide, thus contributing to an immediate improvement in the environmental footprint.

It is noted that, within the framework of the project, all residential and commercial consumers benefit from a 100% discount on connection fees.
