Hellenic Gas Distribution Company Enaon EDA, a subsidiary of Enaon, would like to inform that construction works for the natural gas distribution network are currently progressing in the centre of Alexandroupolis, a project of critical importance for the city’s energy upgrade and the improvement of residents’ quality of life.
The works have experienced a delay of approximately 10 days, mainly due to:
- The discovery of archaeological findings during the execution of works in the area, which require adherence to the prescribed procedures and approvals from the competent authorities.
- The narrow road network and increased traffic load in the city centre, which hinder the rapid execution of interventions, as additional measures are required to ensure their safe implementation.
We would like to inform that today, Friday 26 June 2026, asphalt paving works are being carried out, while the full restoration of the road surface is expected to be completed at the beginning of next week (Monday 29 June or Tuesday 30 June).
Taking into account the tourist season and aiming to minimise disruption to residents, professionals and visitors of the city, works will be suspended during the summer period and will resume in October.
